AIFRA Annual Regulatory Affairs Conference

Purpose:

The annual AIFRA Regulatory Affairs Conference aims to bring together leading scholars, policymakers, industry leaders, and regulatory professionals from across Africa and globally to share cutting-edge research, best practices, and innovations related to regulatory governance and policy. The conference provides a premier platform for disseminating findings, facilitating collaborations, and informing evidence-based policymaking to strengthen regulatory institutions and outcomes on the continent.

Format:

The conference will feature keynote addresses by eminent figures, plenary panel discussions, parallel tracks of oral and poster presentations, workshops, and networking events. Sessions will be organized around key thematic areas such as:

  • Regulatory capacity building and institutional reform
  • Risk-based and responsive regulation approaches
  • Governance of emerging technologies and industries
  • Harmonization and regional coordination mechanisms
  • Regulatory impact assessment and evaluation methodologies
  • Transparency, accountability and stakeholder engagement
  • Sector-specific regulatory challenges and innovations

Submission and Review:

Prospective presenters can submit abstracts or full papers via the online portal. All submissions will undergo blind peer review by the Scientific Committee based on criteria including relevance, originality, methodological rigor, and policy implications. Acceptance decisions will be communicated within 2-3 weeks.

Publication Opportunities:

Presented papers will be considered for publication in AIFRA’s journal series or edited conference volumes, subject to additional peer review. Top papers will be fast-tracked for publication.

 

Continuing Education Credits:

AIFRA students and credential holders can earn 10 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points for attending the full conference and an additional 10 points for presenting papers or serving as session chairs/discussants. Certificates of completion will be provided.

 

Conference Fees:

  • Regular: $500
  • AIFRA Individual Members: $400
  • AIFRA Organizational Partners: $350
  • Students and Emeritus: $200
  • Presenters: $300 (after acceptance)

  • Full waivers for students from low-income countries
  • 50% discount for unfunded presenters
  • 25% discount for group registrations of 5+
  • Regulatory agency staff get 2 free passes per entity
